Advice for parents
To ensure a smooth course:
- Arrive early at the meeting points indicated on your course card.
- Students must present their ticket or lesson card at the lesson.
- Lift passes are not included in the lesson price and are required for both group and private lessons.
- Students are not insured by ESF.
- Equipment is not provided with our services.
- Helmets are strongly recommended.
- Ensure your child arrives at lessons with skis, boots, and a helmet.
- Dress them warmly: anorak, gloves, goggles, handkerchief, and sun cream. We strongly recommend wearing a helmet from the start to establish good habits.
- Pack a snack for your child’s pocket for Piou Piou and Ourson levels.
- To aid our teaching, avoid lingering on the edges of the kindergarten area, as children behave differently when they see their parents.
- Leave your contact details in your child’s pocket, especially for Club Piou Piou and Ourson lessons.
- Respect your child’s pace of progress. Avoid taking them on overly steep slopes, especially if they are still learning to snowplough, as this can hinder their progress and cause difficulties.
- Always be positive and encourage your child’s progress.
- Group lessons require a minimum of 3 participants. If fewer than 3 students register, the lesson may be cancelled at short notice.
- For private lessons, instructors will wait 20 minutes for late arrivals. After this time, the lesson will be considered to have been given.
- ESF reserves the right to modify lesson times and duration.
- NO BOOKINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT PAYMENT.
- Lessons covered by insurance will not be reimbursed or rescheduled due to bad weather.
- ESF cannot be held responsible for weather conditions, lift breakdowns, or other incidents occurring during the lesson.
- Lessons are available for children aged 3 and up for skiing, and 9 and up for snowboarding.
- Only instructors are authorised to decide if a child should change classes.
- On Fridays, instructors will assess children from Piou Piou to Étoile d'Or during morning and afternoon classes. These end-of-week assessments correspond to technical levels, not awards.
